Think about typical gender stereotypes from the pre-1960s women′s movement historical context. Consider stereotypes that still may exist today. Review what you now know about gender similarities from the textbook. Create a letter to a friend in which you share a story (or stories) about your first year as a married person in 1960. Be creative! You can take any perspective you want (good, bad, happy, sad, traditionalist, resistor, etc.), just remember to write the letter as if you are living in 1960 America. Refer to the genre lesson powerpoint and include all structural elements outlined. Be sure to integrate important themes from the textbook, Chapter 3. Use the mentor text as a guide. You will write your narrative, then add comments as I did to point out the concepts related to textbook reading.
